History

The Electrotechnical Factory Kaposvár Ltd. (KVGY) was founded 1st January 1967 as a factory of the Electrical Equipment and Device Works (VBKM) via the reduction of the Kaposvár units of the two other factories of VBKM, TRANSZVILL and the Illuminating Engineering Company.

During this period, the main profile of the factory was the manufacturing of electrical devices and equipments, as well as low and high voltage fuse links, transformers, machine tools and the automatic drives of industrial equipments.

Since 1978, we also manufacture thermosetting terminal blocks for the German Weidmüller company.

1st January 1993: The factory is being transformed into Ltd. owned by the state in 100%.

15th November 1993: Privatization, today the factory is in 100% Hungarian private ownership.

1996: Establishing and certifying of the ISO 9001 quality management system, which we continuously renew since then.

1998: Development of prefabricated transformer substations with concrete enclosure, switching and compensating stations, the marketing of the first pieces. Since then, we have marketed about 1300 stations, above all in the field of power supply.

2000: Development of new generation pole-switch family (OK-2) for electrical distribution networks.

2001: Establishing and certifying of the ISO 14001 environmental management system, which we continuously renew since then.

2003: Our prefabricated transformer substations receives the grand prize on the Industria exhibition.

2003: Start of the exporting of our pole-switches to the Romanian Eximprod company. In the future, we have developed our pole-switches also according the Romanian needs.

2003: Our pole-switches receive the grand prize on the Industria exhibition.

2003-2004: The Weidmüller company transfers the Germany manufacture of their thermosetting terminal blocks to us.

2004: Our KTW concrete house transformer station family receives the grand prize on the Industria exhibition.

2005: With a co-operation contract, we become the transporter of the low voltage fuse links of the French Ferraz company.

2006: Start of the transfer of the Weidmüller terminal blocks manufactured in England to the Electrotechnical Factory Kaposvár. This is being finished in 2009.
